Tips for the Week
October 2, 2011
Fall is for Planting...
Sally reminds you that in WNY we often have long, sunny autumns, with ample rainfall--perfect for growing roots to establish plants.
Keep Watering in Autumn...
Don't put the hose away. Anything planted this year or woody plants that were planted even two years ago should not go into winter with the roots dried out. If it doesn't rain deeply once a week, you need to supply the water.
Shrubs and Trees Can Be Planted Through October...
Many professionals continue to plant even later, and it will work if it's done correctly---with lots of compost, watering and mulch.
Fall is a Good Time to get Professional Advice...
We tend to be a little more available. Call a CNLP today! (Personally, you can make an appointment with me at Lockwood's Greenhouses to plan your landscape or make some changes to it).
