Cyclamen make a great flowering gift plant!

If you purchase a cyclamen for yourself or give it as a gift, cyclamen have some specific requirements to be successful.

These plants prefer to be cool and in a bright location. The best location is a sunny window close to the cool glass. They won't last as long if they are too warm as this triggers them into dormancy (just like the summer months when they go dormant). So keep this plant below 70 degrees - 50 to 60 is ideal.

Next, watch the watering. Never water into the middle of the plant since they are tubers and you risk rotting them. Water around the edge thoroughly and let drain completely.
